DAVAO CITY – Residents of Barangay Ilang gained easier access to essential government programs and services through the Barangay Caravan conducted by the City Government of Davao during the community’s Araw ng Barangay celebration on Thursday.
The caravan brought various services directly to the barangay, including healthcare assistance, social welfare programs, and other government services aimed at addressing the needs of residents at the grassroots level.
Joining the celebration was Davao City’s Second District Representative Omar S. Duterte, who welcomed the initiative and highlighted the importance of making government services more accessible to communities.

Aside from supporting the Barangay Caravan, Duterte also took part in the festivities, interacting with residents and sponsoring games and raffle activities that added excitement to the celebration.
In his message, the congressman thanked the people of Barangay Ilang for their continued support and encouraged them to remain hopeful and united.
“Daghang salamat sa inyong endless support sa kang PRRD, kang VP Sara, Mayor Baste, ug sa akoa. Akoa lang maingon ninyo is samtang naay adlaw naa tay pag-asa. Laban lang ta. Mao man na pagkaila-ila dinhi sa atong mga Dabawenyo, mga isog man ta,” Duterte said.
Residents welcomed both the celebration and the caravan services, noting that initiatives such as these help strengthen community engagement while ensuring that government assistance reaches more families.
The Araw ng Barangay festivities concluded with community activities, entertainment, and prize distributions, reflecting the unity and vibrant spirit of Barangay Ilang.
