DAVAO DE ORO — A criminal complaint for rape has been filed before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Davao de Oro against Jian Tristan Ang, the incumbent Barangay Chairman of Barangay Centro Poblacion, Municipality of Compostela, Davao de Oro.
The case, docketed as NPS No. XI-01-INV-26G-00158, has been set for preliminary investigation.
According to records, on July 16, 2026, Atty. Cayetano, Deputy Provincial Prosecutor, issued a resolution finding the complaint sufficient in form and substance to warrant a preliminary investigation.
Ang has reportedly received a subpoena and was directed to appear and submit his counter-affidavit and other supporting documents during the preliminary investigation hearing set on August 14, 2026.
However, counsel for the respondent filed a motion for extension of time, citing that they were newly engaged and need more time to prepare documents for the hearing.
To protect the privacy of the complainant, who is a 17-year-old minor and a senior high school student, her name is being withheld in accordance with R.A. 7610 and R.A. 9262.
