

Vicente Pichon IV | MATI CITY, Davao Oriental – Mayor Joel Mayo Z. Almario laid out his administration’s vision for the future of Mati City during his People’s Administration, City Today Address 2026, emphasizing sustainable development, inclusive growth, and strengthened public services as key priorities moving forward.
Addressing government officials, community leaders, stakeholders, and residents, Almario presented the city’s strategic direction while highlighting the importance of maintaining momentum in programs that improve the quality of life of Matinians.
The mayor underscored that the city’s development agenda remains anchored on a people-centered approach, with continued investments in healthcare, education, social welfare, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, environmental protection, and economic development.
Looking ahead, Almario identified several priority areas, including the expansion of employment and livelihood opportunities, support for entrepreneurship, disaster resilience initiatives, environmental sustainability programs, and the modernization of government services through digital innovation.
He also stressed the importance of collaboration among government agencies, private institutions, development partners, and local communities in achieving the city’s long-term goals. Among the partnerships highlighted was the continued coordination between the City Government of Mati and the Office of Davao Oriental Second District Representative Cheeno Miguel D. Almario in advancing development initiatives for the city.
While outlining future plans, Almario also reported on the progress achieved during the first eleven months of his administration, noting that these accomplishments were made possible through the collective efforts of local government employees, community leaders, and the people of Mati.
The mayor reiterated his commitment to ensuring that development reaches all sectors, particularly vulnerable and marginalized communities, through programs focused on social protection, healthcare access, youth development, and livelihood assistance.
Concluding his address, Almario called on Matinians to remain active partners in governance and community-building, emphasizing that the city’s continued growth depends on unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility.
The People’s Administration, City Today Address 2026 served as both a report on the city’s progress and a roadmap for the future, reflecting the administration’s commitment to transparent governance and inclusive development for every Matinian.
The event concluded with musical performances from Filipino singers Rob Daniel and Earl Agustin, adding a celebratory atmosphere to the gathering.
