The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) 1st City Mobile Force Company turned over a Children’s Book Lounge in Barangay Baganihan, Marilog District, Davao City, on October 9, 2026, under Oplan Kaisang-Bisig sa Kaalaman 2026.
Carrying the theme, “Bawat Aklat, Bawat Bata, May Pag-asa,” the initiative aims to promote literacy, cultivate a love for reading, and provide children, particularly those in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs), with access to educational resources and meaningful learning opportunities.
The activity was conducted under the leadership of PLTCOL Daisy G. Torres, Force Commander of the 1st City Mobile Force Company, with PLT Rajer U. Salahuddin, Chief of the Police Community Relations (PCR) and Police Community Outreach (PCO), in support of the Philippine National Police’s commitment to community engagement, educational development, and sustainable peace and development.

More than a reading space, the Children’s Book Lounge represents a collaborative effort to invest in the future of Filipino children by making books and learning resources more accessible to communities in need.
The initiative also underscores the importance of strong police-community partnerships in promoting education, building public trust, and advancing peace and development through meaningful collaboration.
The 1st City Mobile Force Company expressed its gratitude to Baganihan Punong Barangay Arnold S. Angit; PMAJ Renante C. Aritalia, Marilog Police Station Commander; the PNPA Kaisang-Bisig Class of 2009; the 1st City Mobile Force Company Advisory Group; and all barangay functionaries, partner stakeholders, and PNP personnel who contributed to the success of the undertaking.
Through this initiative, the 1st City Mobile Force Company reaffirmed its commitment to serving communities beyond law enforcement by supporting educational programs that empower children, nurture young minds, and help build a safer and more peaceful future.
The undertaking reinforces the shared belief that education is a vital foundation for peace, progress, and hope for the next generation.
